B.C. Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure – Klemtu Ferry Terminal Concrete Pontoon Vanpile was retained by the MOTI to construct a 88’ by 57’ floating concrete pontoon to be used as a berth by BC Ferries at their Klemtu Ferry Terminal. This concrete float was constructed in our drydock located at our yard in North Vancouver, BC.

Lafarge Harbour Plant Vanpile completed the construction of Lafarge Canada’s Vancouver Harbour Ready-Mix Concrete Plant’s Marine Facility. This project required the supply and installation of steel pipe piles for the mooring dolphins, tower head frame and conveyor support bents. The work also included the installation of the conveyor sections and 100 timber densification piles for new a silo structure. |

Lehigh, Ocean Cement , Granville Island Plant, New Wharf and fender Repairs Vanpile was retained by Lehigh as the General Contractor for the complete demolition and rebuild of the existing wharf at their Granville Island ready-mix concrete plant. The existing creosote treated timber wharf had reached end of life. A replacement steel pipe pile and precast concrete wharf was constructed while Ocean maintained operation of the surrounding ready-mix plant. |

BC Hydro, Port Mann Tower Restoration Vanpile was retained by BC Hydro for the emergency stabilization of one of their hydro towers located adjacent to the Port Mann Bridge and in the Fraser River. Environmental factors caused severe undermining at one of the tower's pile footings thereby causing large deflections and leaning of the tower. This project required careful jacking of the existing tower to re-level and stabilize prior to driving a new pile foundation. |

Village of Belcarra, Potable Water Marine Pipelines Vanpile was the successful bidder for the supply and installation of a marine pipeline for potable water for the Village of Belcarra. This project involved the supply and installation of twin HDPE pipelines on the seabed of the Burrard Inlet. As Eel Grass was present at the project site our focus throughout the duration of the project was detailed environmental planning, monitoring, and protection. |

Ladysmith Maritime Society, Visitor Centre Float Vanpile was retained by the Ladysmith Maritime Society to construct a 60 ft by 55 ft concrete pontoon to be used as a floating foundation for a Visitor Centre. This concrete float was constructed in our drydock located at our yard in North Vancouver. |

Port Metro Vancouver - Deltaport Berth 3 Expansion Vanpile joint ventured with Graham Construction for the Port Metro Vancouver Deltaport Berth 3 Expansion Project. The marine scope of the project included construction of 432 lineal meters of new berth using sunken concrete caissons, dredging, densification and land reclamation. This project received the honours of a Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) Award of Excellence in 2010. |

Nanaimo Port Authority - Nanaimo Cruise Ship Terminal Vanpile completed the construction of the new cruise ship terminal in Nanaimo, BC, in April 2011. This project required a diverse construction repertoire including land densification, marine material dredging, driving of galvanized steel pipe piles, concrete cap construction, steel fabrication, and pontoon fabrication. This project received the honours of a Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) Award of Excellence in 2011. |

Ministry of Agriculture and Lands - Ocean Falls Link River Causeway Vanpile was retained to remove a partially collapsed causeway structure located in Ocean Falls, BC. We completed this structure removal in August 2009 as well as provided additional bank stabilization. |

Seaspan ULC - Seaspan Yacht Floats Vanpile was retained by Seaspan to fast-track the design-build of a concrete floating dock capable of berthing various marine vessels. The floats were design with reinforced concrete and utilized expanded polystyrene foam billets in the voids of the float. We constructed the floats in modules in our drydock in our North Vancouver yard. |

British Columbia Ferry Services Inc. - Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal Berth 4 Rebuild Vanpile was retained by the British Columbia Ferry Services Inc to demolish and rebuild the Tsawwassen Berth 4 Ferry Terminal. This demolition and rebuild project required thorough scheduling and a strong communication plan as the construction was completed while both adjacent ferry berths were active. |

BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure - William R. Bennett Bridge Vanpile joint ventured with SNC Lavalin Inc. to complete the construction of the William R. Bennett Bridge located in Kelowna, BC. In addition to constructing the new bridge in Kelowna, this project also incorporated the decommissioning and disposal of the existing Okanagan Lake floating bridge structure. This project received the honour of a Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) Award of Excellence in 2008. |

Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion Project - Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion Vanpile was the marine contractor for PCL on the Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion Project. The marine works for this project included installation of approximately 1000 steel pipe piles, installation of a sheet pile wall, demolition of existing marine structures, marine and land densification, marine dredging and disposal, and the construction and installation of concrete caissons. |
